Blackhawk Equipment was founded in 1985 and has steadily grown to become the premier compressed air and equipment distributor in Colorado.

We specialize in all of the components of air systems including: air system design, efficiency assessments, Xcel Energy rebates, engineered solutions, air dryers, cooling towers, air tools, custom controls, skid packages, portables and rental air.

Company Background

John Rupprecht founded Blackhawk Equipment 30 years ago, here in Colorado.  Since then, the company has established a market presence built on trusted business relationships that have lasted for decades.  Solid roots and close ties within our community enable us to relate to our clients and understand their needs.

25 years ago, after a successful career in the Navy, Chris Gordon began working for Blackhawk Equipment.  He served as a Service Technician, and then performed in several Department Manager roles as he quickly mastered the technical side of the compressed air business. In 2006, Chris purchased Blackhawk Equipment from John.

Corelle Helart joined the business in 2001.She progressed from Office Manager, Operations to her current role as General Manager thanks in part to her background in business management and an MBA from University of Colorado.

Chris and Corelle became 50/50 business partners in 2010.  Together they transformed the direction and focus of the business from equipment sales and distribution to an Air Systems & Industrial Equipment Solution Provider, tripling the size of their operations.

Blackhawk Equipment is now headquartered in Arvada, Colorado where our sales, service, engineering and parts divisions provide national and international service and support built upon a customer-centric approach. Our goal is smart sustainable growth. Today, our team consists of over 35 employees with than 150 years combined experience in the industry. Additionally, we employ five Department of Energy Certified AirMaster+ Specialists.  As an Xcel Energy Efficiency Partner and on-site Engineering Department, we are uniquely qualified to provide energy audits and entire system solutions which maximize energy savings for our clients.
